A natural stone handcrafted in Belgium
Each stone is handcrafted in Belgium, where Coticule has been quarried and worked for many generations. Recognized by enthusiasts and professionals alike, this natural stone stands out for its craftsmanship and sharpening performance.
Ideal for finishing and maintaining the edge
With a working surface of 180 × 60 mm, the Blue Coticule is particularly well-suited for sharpening, finishing, and edge maintenance. Its grit size is rated at 4000 grains, allowing you to achieve a very fine edge, close to a so-called razor-sharp finish.
Versatile for a wide range of tools
The Maxknives MK1710 is equally suitable for sharpening kitchen knives, outdoor knives, carpentry tools, and sculpting tools. This versatility makes it a sharpening and finishing stone suitable for both demanding users and hobbyists who want to effectively maintain their cutting tools.
The secret lies in its composition, which consists of approximately 30 to 40% garnet. Since garnet is very hard, it enables very fast sharpening, and the slurry that forms on the stone’s surface allows for a very fine polish.
Since garnet ranks just below diamond on the hardness scale, it is very easy to sharpen even the hardest steels.
The most important point is that this stone does not create burrs on the cutting edge and produces a perfectly smooth cutting edge without rough spots, making its profile very durable.
It is this characteristic that has helped build the reputation of the Coticule stone.
Non-slip bamboo stand
The stone comes with a bamboo stand equipped with a non-slip base that ensures excellent stability during sharpening. The set measures 205 × 85 mm and weighs a total of 805 g, while the stone alone weighs 600 g, ensuring it sits securely on the work surface.
