The Dreamtech D4548SBL is a training version of the D4548, recognizable by its light blue titanium components. Its design combines a 7Cr17 steel training blade with a hybrid handle made of 7075 aluminum and TC4 titanium, in a format designed to replicate the characteristic movements and rotations of a balisong.
A 107 mm training blade
The central element is made of 7Cr17 steel and measures 107 mm. It mimics the general silhouette of a blade but lacks a functional cutting edge to prioritize practice of handling techniques. Its design features several longitudinal cutouts that enhance its technical appearance while clearly distinguishing this version from a conventional butterfly knife.
With a thickness of 3.8 mm, this component retains a presence comparable to that of a classic blade, allowing the D4548SBL to maintain consistent proportions for training.
Black 7075 aluminum and light blue TC4 titanium
The two temples measure 137 mm and are primarily made of black 7075 aluminum. Several elements in light blue TC4 titanium adorn their tips, giving the model a brighter, instantly recognizable finish.
The long grooves machined into the aluminum visually define the handles while maintaining a slim silhouette. The combination of black and blue also creates a striking contrast with the trainer’s silver finish.
A mechanism designed for balisong practice
The D4548SBL reaches a total length of 244 mm when fully opened. The two blades pivot around the trainer’s axis to allow for the various handling sequences specific to this type of training knife.
At the end of the handle, a spring-loaded latch keeps the blades together. This mechanism is directly integrated into the structure and remains discreet when the balisong is open.
Without a pocket clip and specifically designed for training, the Dreamtech D4548SBL features a balisong mechanism combined with premium materials and a distinctive blue finish.
